Writing through the Word: The Book of Romans

Hello Friends!

I know it’s been a while since I last wrote. I hope everything is going well and that you are enjoying the beautiful Spring weather.

I’ve been working on a new project called, “Writing through the word,” meaning to copy it word for word exactly how it is written in your bible.  I really want to spend more time in His word.  So I thought it would be a good idea, to read and write my way through the entire Bible.  This was inspired one day as I was listening to one of my favorite pastors Chuck Smith teach through the Bible on Sunday mornings and also at  K-Wave on the radio program “The Word For Today”.  He mentioned that the word of God must be taught and read and the Lord and the Holy Spirit will touch the hearts of people, nothing more nothing less. I truly believe this because, this was how I met the Lord over 20 years ago.  He spoke to my heart through His word.

Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

Psalm 119:11

Every day there will be a passage to read and copy. You can use any journal, composition notebook, or notebook of your choice. It should only be around 20-30mins. every day, possibly even less.  You can do it all in one shot or break it up. Whatever makes it easier for you. The Bible I will be using is the New King James version.  You can use the version that you have or the same.

My goal is to eventually write through the whole Bible in a year. Of course that may not happen.  But most importantly is to be spending time with Him in His word and hiding it in our hearts chapter by chapter, verse by verse, book by book.  For the month of May we will be in the book of Romans. Then we will continue on from there all the way through to Revelation. And then start in Genesis.  The more time we spend in the Word with Him.  The closer we will be to Him.  It is my heart that you and I will come to have a closer walk and relationship with Him, the lover of our souls.

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

You may be wondering why I chose the book of Romans. This is just where the Lord put it on my heart to start. My prayer is that His word will speak to you and that you will join me on this journey as we draw closer to the Lord, spending time every day at His feet.  If you do not currently know the Lord Jesus or have a relationship with Him and want to  learn more, this is one of the best ways to learn and know Him.  His word will speak to you through the pages of the Bible.   Please email me or comment below if you have any questions.

Since it is May 2nd, we will start writing the first two days, and go from there. If you aren’t able to get it done today, that’s okay. Just pick up your pen and Bible and keep reading and writing where you left off.  You can also have your family write along with you.  And then have a discussion about the days verses.  If you have children, this is a great way to get in writing, reading, and also discuss the Bible with them at dinner, on their level ect…

I will be using the hashtag #writingthroughtheword, on social media, so please share so others can follow along.

I can’t wait to hear about what the Lord speaks to you and does in your life as you write through the Bible.

Please keep in touch or comment below if you will be writing through the word with me. I look forward to hearing from you.

In His Love,

Rachel
